K. L. E. Society’s KLE Dr. M. S. Sheshagiri College of Engineering  & Technology was established in the year 1979.  The College is located in an ideal, congenial and industrial environment on the outskirts of Belgaum  city adjoining the Belgaum-Panjim National Highway.  The campus has an area of 17 Acres, with a built up area of 27,395 m2.  The city enjoys salubrious climate as that of Bangalore. 

We are the self-financing Institute recognized by A.I.C.T.E., New Delhi, and Govt. of Karnataka and is Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The Institute is in the process of having twining programme with University of U. K. and USA.  K.S.C.S.T. Bangalore adjudged the college as best college during the year 1998-99 and 2000-01. The college is certified with ISO 9001:2000. Six of our UG and one PG courses are accredited by NBA, AICTE New Delhi.

Institute Facilities

Library :

The collection of over more than 51,000 volumes. The Library has subscribed to 78 National Journals and 92 International Journals. The students and staff fully utilized these Journals. A separate journals section, which is always busy, speaks of utilization. The annual budget for the subscription of these National and International Journals is Rs. 12,00,000/-. Separate Book Bank facilities exist for SC/ST students and also student Lending Library facility is there for all the students. The Library functions from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM and during examination time it will open till 12:00 o’ Clock. It has also a Xerox section. To quench the thirst of students the Library has many Encyclopedias, World Books, Dictionary and General Books written by noted authors. The Kannada Balaga has a contribution of 127 Volumes of worth Rs. 3,825/- The Internet facility is also available in the library In addition to this every department has a separate library. A new digital library is under construction, which will have a capacity of accommodating more than 300 students.

Hostels :

The college is having separate excellent, well-furnished hostel facility for Boys and Girls.

Co-curricular activities :

Activities like paper presentations, seminars and symposiums are given by students on a regular basis as a part of their curriculum. Industrial tours are also organized frequently by departments to expose the students to industrial environment.

Computer Facilities :

The institute realize the importance of information technology in the world and hence an infrastructure that includes a 24-hour Internet facility provided to all departments. Separate computer labs are provided for both the Computer Science and MCA departments which are centrally air conditioned and well equipped.

Medical Insurance :

The college provides full medical insurance to all students by issuing a K. L. E. Health Card which enables the students of the institution to avail services of the K.L.E. hospital absolutely free of cost.

Training & Placement :

We are the placement hub of North Karnataka having a placement record of almost 90%. Few of the Blue Chip companies visiting the Campus are TCS, Subex Systems, L & T IT, Persitent Systems Pvt. Ltd., Mind Tree Consultants, HCL info Systems, Infosys Tech., CANBAY, Grasim Industries, METLIFE Chemicals, TATA Elexi, Shobha Developers, Punj Lolyd, Digital India, Leela Scotish, Fair Field Atlad etc., Students are doing projects in National laboratories like NAL, HAL, ISRO, DRDO, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and under take training at many reputed industries.

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) :

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is working since 1985. The students chapter arranges talks and conferences every semester. A national level conference INDEX 2002 was organized in the May 2002.

Institute of Engineers Student Chapter :

Civil & Mechanical Engineering departments have student chapter recognized by institute of Engineers (India) established with an objective of enhancing technical exposure to students.

Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engg. (IEEE) :

The IEEE student branch of the college was started in the year 1992. At present it has 175 students members and 5 staff members. The student branch library is rich in technical literature and the latest IEEE magazines are available for reference.
